Every Harbour Lights Guide draws on legislation, government and statutory guidance, specialist charity practice, academic research and legal commentary. The Reference Library brings all of these sources together in one searchable place.
The Reference Library identifies those sources and shows where they have informed our work. Each entry includes the original source, the type of evidence it provides, the Harbour Lights Community resources in which it has been used, and a short explanation of what that source contributes.
This gives you a way to explore the source material directly and follow the evidence behind particular areas of the website and guides.
All sources in the Reference Library are publicly available. Harbour Lights does not own or host this content. We provide links to the original sources so you can read them in full.
About our sources
Where we can, we link directly to the original legislation, statutory guidance, charity publication, research paper or press statement rather than to a secondary summary. A small number of sources (for example, some printed or subscription-only material) don't have a public link; these are marked "Source link not available" rather than linked.
